Asante Kotoko winger Bernard Somuah will continue his development in Spain after extending his loan deal with La Liga side RC Celta Vigo for another season. The agreement also includes an option for the Spanish club to make the move permanent at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Somuah, 20, initially joined Celta Vigo in August 2024, linking up with the club’s reserve side, Celta B, which competes in Spain’s third-tier league, the Primera Federación. His standout displays over the past season have earned him an extended stay.
In the 2024/25 campaign, Somuah made 29 appearances, netting five goals and assisting four more. He created 21 chances, completed 47 successful dribbles, and maintained a solid 83% pass accuracy—statistics that underline his attacking impact and consistency. His speed and flair have made him a key figure in Celta B’s squad and caught the eye of head coach Claudio Giráldez.
Despite Celta B narrowly missing out on the promotion playoffs, Somuah’s individual performances were a major positive. The loan extension gives the Ghanaian talent another shot at progressing into the senior setup and further proving his worth in Spanish football.
