Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has joined Turkish SupaLig side Yeni Matalyaspor, Kyfilla.com can confirm. The 27-year old has penned down a two-year deal with the Blood and Gold lads after passing a mandatory medicals. He has joined the Turkish side on a free transfer after stay with Italian Serie A outfit Empoli expired. The Yeni Matalyaspor newly signed enforcer, netted twice for Empoli in 28 matches. Afriyie Acquah made his Black Stars debut on February 2012 in a friendly against Chile. He has previously played for Palermo, Parma, 1899 Hoffenheim, Sampdoria and Torino.

Kansaworado-based Young Barcelona emerged champions of the 20-team competition after beating Rejuvenated Soccer Academy in the grand finale via penalty shoot-outs. The launching of the Western region invitational tournament has been slated for Monday, August 26,2019. According to the organizers of the tournament, Western region Sports Committee, the launching ceremony will be held at the WRCC Conference Room in Sekondi.
