The Ashanti Region remains a stronghold of the NPP and accumulated a huge vote to defeat the leading opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region.[ads2] The NPP flagbearer, President Akufo-Addo accumulated 1,795,824 votes in the Ashanti Region as against John Mahama’s 653,149. [ads1] Francis Asenso-Boakye has overwhelmingly won the Bantama parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region for the ruling New Patriotic Party. The knowledgeable politician defeated the NDC’s Joseph Amo and Saahene Kwaku Stephen of the UPP in the 2020 December polls.[ads2] Asenso-Boakye won with an incredible 58,989 votes as against Joseph Amo’s 7,189 and Saahene Kwaku’s 221.[ads3] Asenso-Boakye who is the deputy chief of staff has won the Bantama seat as a first timer and will represent the Constituency as their legislator for the next four years.[ads5]

[ads1] The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has provided fresh update on the ongoing 2020 presidential results. The Electoral Commission has started releasing results from the various regions with eight regions currently out.[ads2] In a statement, the EC is announcing that its has received certified results from fourteen regional coalition centres with only two results left. Dumelo has been defeated in the ongoing elections by the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan who prior to the elections was the Incumbent.[ads2[ Lydia Alhassan pulled 39,851 votes as against Dumelo’s 37,778 and the PNC’s 160 votes.The valid votes was 77,604 and 595 rejected ballots.[ads3] But John Dumelo suspect an irregularities in the counting amd has requested for a recount. [ads1] One of the astonishing results in the ongoing elections is Catherine Afeku losing the Evalue Gwira constituency seat to Kofi Nokoe. The incumbent MP was shockingly beaten by Kofi Nokoe for the parliamentary seat.[ads2] Catherine Afeku pulled 17,287 votes but was not enough to succumbed Kofi Nokoe’s 19,820.[ads5]
