The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) will be increasing transportation fares by thirty percent from Friday, May 13, 2022. The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that the passports office had seen an overwhelming increment in revenue. According to Dr Bawumia, the passports office in 2017 had about 16,000 applications which was giving the country about Gh¢1m in revenue but that same office in 2021 had 498,000 online applications, generating over Gh¢56m.
