The New Patriotic Party has elected Freddie Blay as its Chairman at the just eneded National Delgates Conference held in the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua. He beat off stiff oppoisition from Freddie Worsemawu Blay, Dr Richard Amoako Baah, Stephen Ayesu Ntim who were hoping to take up the mantle of leadership. Ghanaian defender Rashid Sumaila has been given his favorite no. 37 jersey at Serbian Superliga side Red Star Belgrade. The 25-year-old joined the Red and White side last week on a season-long loan deal from Kuwaiti side Al Qadsia. Mr Samson Adamu, the Competitions Director for the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will arrive in Ghana for a three- day working visit to assess progress being made towards the staging of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ghana later this year.
