Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana has reached an agreement to join Serie A club Atalanta, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian side is bolstering its attacking ranks by securing Sulemana’s services from Southampton ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The deal is reported to be worth €17.5 million, with an additional €4 million in performance-related bonuses and add-ons. Southampton have also negotiated a 15% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
Sulemana, who is currently holidaying in Accra, is expected to cut his break short and travel to Bergamo for a medical examination on Friday, 27 June.
The 22-year-old winger began his professional career with FC Nordsjælland in Denmark before moving to French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais. He later joined Southampton in January 2023 for a club-record fee, making 26 Premier League appearances and scoring one goal.
Despite a modest goal return in England, Sulemana’s explosive pace, dribbling ability and versatility on the left flank caught Atalanta’s attention.
The Serie A outfit plans to integrate the Ghanaian into their squad as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
Atalanta are aiming to capitalise on Sulemana’s attacking qualities as they build a team capable of competing strongly in both domestic and European competition
