Asante Kotoko goalkeeper’s trainer, Najahu Issah has pleaded with CAF to have a second look at the format for the Champions League.
According to Najahu Issah, CAF has to change the format of the competition to a one league tie at a neutral venue.[ads2]
“We came to fight a good fight but unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to do so. CAF must change the format of the CAF champions league to one league at a neutral venue”, he tweeted.

Najahu Issah has made this plea following Asante Kotoko elimination from the CAF Champions League.[ads3]
Asante Kotoko were declared 2:0 losers after their game against Al Hilal in Sudan was called off due to Coronavirus issues.
The Ghana Premier League heavyweight had seven of their players and four officials contracting Coronavirus after a tests were carried on the team.[ads4]
The game was called off after Asante Kotoko failed to raise fifteen players for the match on last Wednesday in Sudan.
Before the second leg, Asante Kotoko had lost the first leg tie to Al Hilal by a goal to nil in Accra.
Though, Asante Kotoko felt their results were tempered by the Al Hilal officials, CAF has announced list of teams that have qualified to the group stages of the CAF Champions League without Asante Kotoko but Al Hilal was included.
This means that Asante Kotoko have been dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup after the exist from the Champions League.[ads5]
