Asante Kotoko talisman Abdul Fatawu Safiu has joined Swedish second tier side Trellesborg FF in the ongoing transfer window, Kyfilla.com can confirm.
The 25-year old prolific attacker has completed a season long loan deal with the Trellesborg based side with option to for additional two years.
A statement from Trellesborg FF after signing the dead-ball specialist reads “We continue to strengthen on the attack side now through 25-year old forward Abdul Fatawu Safiu from Ghana.”
The former Eleven Wonders marksman was an inch away from joining Helsinborg IF in the Swedish top-flight league but the deal was cancelled due to contractual disagreement between the Helsinborg based side and Asante Kotoko.
Abdul Fatawu Safiu netted 10 goals for Asante Kotoko in the just ended NC Special Competition and was a joint-topscorer with Karela United youngster Diawisie Taylor.
He is expected to replicate his fine form for Trellesborg FF who were relegated from the Swedish top-flight league last season.
