“My administration has introduced new contract structure at Kotoko that allows the club not to pay signing-on-fee. The previous contract was really not helping the club and that has necessitated for changes”, Nana Yaw Amponsah told Opemsuo FM.
“Our new recruits will not receive any inducement fee but what they deserve will be spread throughout the year as monthly salary. You won’t believe it the kind of debt that emanates from this signing-on-fee system every season”, he added.

Nana Yaw Amponsah added that despite inhering huge debt at Asante Kotoko due to the payment of inducement fee, the paying of inducement fee doesn’t push footballers to play their maximum best.
“Another demerit of the payment of inducement fee is that, it does not cushion the players to give out their best because once they take those huge monies and are sacked they will still go to different club for the same signing on fee which is simply not helpful”, he concluded.
