Asante Kotoko duo of Fabio Gama and Isaac Oppong could be unavailable for Ghana Premier League super clash fixture against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The duo have been out of action for awhile due to injuries and stand a chance of missing the titanic clash against Hearts of Oak on Sunday despite resuming training.
For Fabio Gama, the Brazilian midfielder has missed Asante Kotoko last eight matches due to injury but has resumed training ahead of the biggest fixture on Sunday.[ads2]
It is believed that coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is not counting on the Brazilian for the Hearts of Oak clash despite engaging in Kotoko training activities earlier this week.
Gama has made eight appearances for the Porcupine Warriors this season with one assist.[ads3]
Striker Isaac Oppong also remain doubtful for the Sunday clash despite engaging in training activities earlier this week.
The attacker who was unplayable in the early stages of the season suffered an ankle injury and hasn’t been in action since early December.
He has missed Asante Kotoko last ten matches and reports indicate that he will not be risked against Hearts of Oak on Sunday despite training with his teammates.[ads4]
Meanwhile, there is a good news in the camp of Asante Kotoko as midfielder Mudasiru Salifu will be available for the clash after missing the team’s 3:1 victory against Accra Lions last weekend due to ailment.
Asante Kotoko are looking forward to avenge last season’s defeat in Accra that saw them losing the league title to Hearts of Oak.
A win for Asante Kotoko will see them stretch their lead over Hearts of Oak to 15 points, a situation the Phobians are determined to avoid.[ads5]
