Asante Kotoko are close to landing the signature of Medeama Sporting Club budding defender Samuel Appiah, according to media reports.

The Kumasi-based side have reportedly reached the apex of negotiations with Medeama Sporting Club for the services of the talented right-back.

Appiah has been earmarked as the perfect replacement for Christopher Nettey who is expected to sign for a foreign club before soon.

It is reported that Samuel Appiah has agreed to join Asante Kotoko due to the influence of CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah who was a close friend to the defender during his days at Phar Rangers.

Samuel Appiah joined Medeama Sporting Club in 2018 and was solid at defence for the Tarkwa-based in the just cancelled 2019/20 league season.
He capped 14 matches for Medeama Sporting Club before the 2019/20 league season was cancelled due to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus.
