Asante Kotoko have reached a transfer agreement with FC Samartex for the signing of defensive midfielder Lord Hilary Adabo ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Sources close to the negotiations confirm that the two clubs have settled on a transfer fee of GH¢200,000. The player is expected to finalise personal terms with the Porcupine Warriors by Thursday, paving the way for him to sign a long-term contract with the Kumasi-based outfit.
Adabo, noted for his strength, excellent ball recovery, and composure under pressure, emerged as one of Samartex’s top performers during the previous campaign. His consistent displays in midfield earned him widespread admiration across the league and placed him firmly on the radar of top-tier clubs.
Kotoko have now acted decisively to secure the services of the 23-year-old as they continue their rebuilding process aimed at restoring the club’s dominance in domestic football.
The acquisition of Adabo is seen as a significant boost to Kotoko’s midfield options and underscores the club’s ambition to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
The player is expected to join his new teammates for pre-season training once his move is officially completed.
