Ace sportscaster, Kofi Asare Brako popularly known as Abatey has called for the return of Asamoah Gyan to the Black Stars.
According to Abatey, the presence of Asamoah Gyan in the Black Stars scares many of the opponent Ghana faces in tournament.[ads2]
Speaking on Peace FM, Abatey who is also a member of the office of the Youth and Sports Ministry believes Ghana would have done well in the last AFCON tournament in Egypt if Asamoah Gyan started most of the games.
“Ghana would have done well in the last AFCON if Asamoah Gyan was given the opportunity to start games, because during the Ghana vs Cameroon game, Gyan changed everything. He brought fear in some of the Cameroon defenders, and that fear was repeated during our game against Tunisia. He [Asamoah Gyan] is the cause of that own goal equalizer for Ghana because the defender was scared of him whilst they were jumping”, Abatey said.[ads3]
“I think Asamoah Gyan deserves to be in the team again because Ghana could have done better if he was given the opportunity in the previous AFCON”, he added.[ads4]
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has been out of the Black Stars after the team’s shambolic showdown in the African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
