Since that interview, many Ghanaians including former footballers and government officials have expressed their opinions about Gyan’s ambition of making a return to the Ghana senior male national team for the upcoming mundial.[ads3]
But Baffour Gyan believes his younger brother is not ready for the tournament since he needs to work more on himself before thinking about a return to the national team.
“He knows much about football and you can’t just get out of your house to go to the field to play football. If you decide to play when you are not ready the game will teach you a lesson, for me, he is not ready and he needs to work more on himself” he said when asked about Asamoah Gyan’s quest to return to the field on Wontumi FM.
Asamoah Gyan is currently Ghana’s all-time leading topscorer but has been out of the national team since 2019 after the African Cup of Nations.[ads4]
He has been unattached since leaving Ghana Premier League outfit Legon Cities FC in the 2020/21 league season.
Meanwhile, Ghana is in group H of the World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea and will play its first game against the European giants on November 24.[ads5]
