Ghana defender, Alexander Djiku is set to undergo medicals in Germany this week ahead of a move to Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.
The 27-year old is expected to sign a four-year deal with the German side after a successful medicals.
Djiku who was named the best Ghanaian player in the just ended Ghana Football Awards is joining Hoffenheim in a deal worth €6million, excluding bonuses, from French ligue I outfit FC Strasbourg.
He had scintillating form for FC Strasbourg in the 2021/22 league season and contributed to the team’s amazing performance in the French Ligue I.
His former club Caen will be earning fifteen percent of the deal as stipulated in his contract when joining Strasbourg in 2019.
Djiku is leaving FC Strasbourg despite a year left on his contract, and expected to ink a deal for Hoffenheim after the medicals on Wednesday afternoon.
Alexander Djiku spent his youth career at Bastia. He played for the reserve team until 2014, when he was promoted to the senior team.
After spending three years at the club, he joined Caen where he made his debut in a Coupe de la Ligue match against Évian in December 2013.
He joined Ligue 1 side Stade Malherbe Caen on a four-year contract in July, 2017 before signing for FC Strasbourg in the summer of 2019.
Alexander Djiku went ahead to play 63 matches for FC Strasbourg, scoring a goal as a center-back.
