Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko were demolished 5-0 by Al Hilal in second preseason friendly in Sudan on Friday evening.
Before today’s game, Al Hilal had beaten Asante Kotoko 2-0 in first game of the preseason campaigm earlier this week at the Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman.
The Porcupine Warriors started the game on a higher note with the zeal to avenge the 2-0 defeat but things sour as Al Hilal opened the floodgate in the 23rd minute of the encounter.
The Sudanese powerhouse went on to score in the 44th, 55th, 62nd, and 90th minutes to complete the friendly double over Kotoko.
It was the second defeat for Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo, who was appointed Kotoko coach last week to replace Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum who resigned weeks ago.
Kotoko are in Sudan preparing for the upcoming league season and will engage in two more friendlies, one against Tanzanian giants Simba, to play in Sudan before completing their preparations for the new season.
The Porcupines will open the league season with a tricky game against Burkinabe champions RC Kadiogo in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
