Ghana captain Andre Ayew is fit for second group game of the AFCON against Gabon on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Ayew suffered a cut to the eye when Ghana lost to Morocco in the first game of the tournament last Monday.[ads2]
Asked why he underperformed against Morocco, Andre Ayew told reporters last Monday that he was not feeling well but decided to play because his presence on the pitch was needed.
Coach Milovan Rajevac at a press conference on Thursday, January 13 revealed that the Al Sadd attacker is in stitches but will be available for the Gabon clash tonight.[ads3]
“Andre Ayew is in stitches but he is fit and okay. Will he be selected for tomorrow? As for selection, I don’t talk about it,” said Milovan Rajevac.
Ghana will have to beat Gabon to boost chances of qualifying to the knockout stage of the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon.
