Asante Kotoko talisman Abdul Fatawu Shafiu has snubbed a deal to France and he is set to sign for Swedish top-flight side Helsingborgs IF, Kyfilla.com understands.
The 24-year old was linked to France but Kyfilla.com understands he has left for Sweden to secure a deal with Helsingborgs IF.
According to news reaching Kyfilla.com, the former Shirak attacker left Ghana last Sunday to Helsingborgs IF in Sweden to secure a bumper deal with the Sweden Professional League side.
Kyfilla.com understands, the deal has not been finalized yet as the head coach of the Swedish side Henrik Larsson want to assess him before signing an official contract.
Abdul Fatawu Shafiu was exceptional for the Porcupine Warriors during the NC Special Competitions, scoring ten goals in the tier 1 and helping the Kumasi based side to clinch the ultimate after beating Karela United in the finals.
He was included in the Black Stars provisional squad for the AFCON 2019 but was axed in the final squad for the tournament.
