Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told Jose Mourinho he is putting Raphael Varane up for sale this summer.
Manchester United manager Mourinho signed Varane for Real when coach, beating Sir Alex Ferguson to the former Lens prospect.
Diario Gol says Perez and Mourinho share a close relationship from their time together at the Bernabeu and the former has told the Portuguese he’ll sell Varane if he pays big.
The former Chelsea boss is willing to break the bank for Varane’s arrival but will first need to convince the board of his plans.
Perez has ideas of his own to replace Varane with Inter Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax in his sights.
