A 32-year-old man, Edem Kpotsodzi, has been accused of killing a 90-year-old man, Christopher Agboka, also known as Gbagbladza, over a coconut in Datsiedu – Ziope.
Seth Adorvlo, the Assemblyman for the Ziope Electoral Area, confirmed that Kpotsodzi had been harvesting coconuts from Mr. Agboka’s land on Tuesday, January 6.
The Assemblyman claims that the suspect became enraged when Mr. Agboka begged him to cease claiming that the fruit was immature.
According to Mr. Adorvlo, Edem Kpotsodzi allegedly returned to his home, got a knife, and attacked the dead, repeatedly stabbing him in the stomach. Mr. Agboka is alleged to have died as a result of the attack.
According to reports, the suspect fled the scene but was subsequently caught by the police. He is currently being held and helping with investigations.
