Asante Kotoko managed to secure a vital point in Mauritania against Nouadhibou FC in the CAF Champions League prelims on Sunday evening.
The Ghana Premier League heavyweight were very impressive throughout the ninety minutes despite failing to secure the three maximum points.[ads2]
Osman Ibrahim pushed Asante Kotoko to the lead in the fifth minute with a fine strike.
The talented goal poacher fed on a splendid pass from skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi to score the opener for the Porcupine Warriors.[ads3]
It was a great relief for Asante Kotoko until the center referee awarded the home team a penalty, explaining that Yusif Mubarik had his hand on the ball in the eighteen yard box. Nouadhibou FC capitalized to score the parity.

The second half begun with both sides showing determination to get the second goal but all to no avail as the ninety minutes ended 1:1.
