Ghanaian midfield dynamo, James Akaminko has expressed his desire to play for Asante Kotoko.
The talented midfielder is now a free agent after the expiration of his contract with AshantiGold Sporting Club.
Though AshantiGold Sporting Club are in talks with him to sign a new contract, James Akaminko believes a move to Asante Kotoko is welcome.

“I’m no more a player of AshantiGold and am willing to play for Kotoko”, Akaminko said on Kumasi FM.
“It will be an honour for a whole Kotoko to approach me. I will thank God if I receive a call from Asante Kotoko asking for my services.”

“I was contemplating on playing for Asante Kotoko or traveling abroad but I will choose to player here [Ghana] than abroad , so am ready for Asante Kotoko move. My regards to all Asante Kotoko fans”, Akaminko added.
James Akaminko has been on Asante Kotoko wishlist for awhile alongside teammates Shafiu Mumuni and Latif Anabila.
His comments will go down as a huge boost to Asante Kotoko who are augmenting squad for the next season’s CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko are reportedly chasing for the signatures of players like Shafiu Mumuni who is now a free agent, Justice Blay, Emmanuel Keyekeh and Latif Anabila.
Though Asante Kotoko have been banned by Manhyia Palace not to sign new players for a year, management of the Ghana Premier League record holders have earmarked these players should the ban be lifted as the newly appointed CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah make steps to get clearance.
