Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiyu is likely to miss the team’s CAF Champions League opener due to a knee injury.
According to report, the buoyant center-back sustained a knee injury during Asante Kotoko training on last Saturday at the Adako Jachie training complex.
Even though the medical team have not official communicated the extent of the injury, reports suggest he might out of the Asante Kotoko CAF Champions League opening game
Ganiyu joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal in October, 2018 from premier league side Karela United and walked straight to the team’s starting eleven, forming a formidable partnership with Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko who are representing Ghana in the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign will play their first game on August 9, 2019.
