The Attorney General’s Department has given the Sunyani Divisional Crime Unit the green light to process Sergeant Baffour Awuah for court after assaulting FIFA female referee Theresa Bremansu.
The Prisons Officer dehumanized Bremansu during Prisons Ladies semi-final clash against Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the NC Women’s Special Competition at Sunyani.
According to reporters, the fascinating encounter which ended 0:1 in favour of the visitors, saw the Takoradi based referee attacked by Baffour Awuah and four other guys.
Bremansu’s crime which led to the gruesome attack by Baffour Awuah and co was failing to add enough additional time to the game which was full of fireworks.
Just after the blast of the final whistle, reporters explained that Baffour Awuah popularly called as ‘Bantama’ alongside the firstour other guys rushed to the pitch and beat the hell out of the female referee with Batama who was supposed to know better as a Prisons Officer leading the barbaric act.
Kyfilla.com understands, the four guys have signed a bond of not repeating the barbaric act again in their lives but the Sunyani Divisional Crime Unit headed by DSP Kingsley Wiredu have been given the go-ahead by the Attorney General to schedule a date for legal action against Baffour Awuah.
Meanwhile, Hasaacas Ladies who were eventual champions after beating Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the finals are yet to receive the GHC 50,000 prize money.
