The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC, Mr. Terry Maxwell Aidam has said his outfit nearly signed Burkina Faso forward Songne Yacouba.
Yacouba had his contract with Asante Kotoko expired despite an attempt from the club to renew the deal.
When his contract with Kotoko expired, the former Stade Malian marksman became a hot cake as some of the Ghanaian clubs including Medeama SC showed interest.

He came close to joining Medeama Sporting Club but negotiations failed at the last-minute of the transfer.
In a hangout with fans on zoom today, the Chief Executive Officer of Legon Cities FC Mr. Terry Maxwell Aidam confessed that his outfit also opened a transfer talks with the Burkinabe import but couldn’t reach a deal.

“We [Legon Cities] talked to Songne Yacouba for a possible transfer but couldn’t reach a deal with him and his representatives at the last-minute”, he said.
Currently, Songne Yacouba remains a free agent hoping to get a team when football activities return to normalcy.
