Ghana Premier League outfit, Elmina Sharks have appointed Nii Odartey Lamptey as their interim head coach.
The former Ghana international has been handed the role by the management of the club after the sacking of head coach Yaw Acheampong.[ads2]
Coach Yaw Acheampong parted ways with Elmina Sharks on Thursday, February 25, 2021 just twenty-four hours after their defeat to Legon Cities FC.
He left alongside his assistant coach Felix Aboagye and goalkeeper’s trainer Nan Mbrah.[ads3]
Nii Odartey Lamptey has been mandated to take the team to training and be in charge until a new substantive coach is appointed according to a statement from the club.
Elmina Sharks are currently suffering financially as two of their best players Benjamin Tweneboah and Benjamin Arthur have left the team after failing to renew their contracts.[ads4]
Currently, the owner of the club Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum is in the United States due to health issues.
