Zakaria Mumuni has debunked reports of joining Asante Kotoko ahead of the new league season.
Reports were rife in the media that, Zakaria Mumuni who currently plays for Congolese side AS Vita Club has entered crunch negotiations with Asante Kotoko for a possible move.

But speaking on Kumasi-based Light FM, the former Aduana Stars striker has rebuffed the reportage, stressing that he has not opened transfer talks with Asante Kotoko.
He explained that he has a contract with
AS Vita Club but he has landed in Ghana to take care of her wife who has just given birth.

“I don’t know where the news is coming from that I am coming to play for Asante Kotoko”
“AS Vita Club gave me a break to come and look after my wife who has just given birth, so those reports are completely false”, Mumuni said on Light FM.

It is believed that Zakaria Mumuni has only three months left on his contract with AS Vita Club but efforts have been made by the leadership of the club to renew his contract despite a hot chase by an unnamed Spanish club.
