Minister for Youth and Sports Honorable Isaac Kwame Asiamah will be inspecting the Sekondi Sports Stadium this afternoon for renovation works to begin at the edifice.
The Sekondi Sports Stadium has not seen any renovation works since its eruption in 2008.

The Stadium was built under the regime of former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kuffour to co-host the 2008 AFCON in Ghana.
After the tournament, the edifice has not seen any renovations and it current state is appalling.
But as part of the government policies to revamp the various state-owned stadia across the country, the Youth and Sports Minister Honorable Isaac Kwame Asiamah will be inspecting the Sekondi Sports Stadium to pave way for the renovation works to begin.

Present at the ceremony will be Hon. Joe Ghartey (MP), Minister of Railways Development, Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (MP), Western Regional Minister, Mr. Anthony K. K. Sam, Metropolitan Chief Executive, Sekondi Takoradi, Mr Frank Quist, Chief Director, MInistry of Youth and Sports, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman, Board Chairman, National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi, Director General, National Sports Authority among other invited dignateries.
Due to the novel Coronavirus pandemic, the ceremony will be strictly by invitation.
Already, the same project has begun at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium weeks ago.
