William Opoku Mensah, a former Asante Kotoko striker has ruled out immediately return to the Ghana Premier League.
The 26-year old played for Sekondi Eleven Wise in the division one league before joining Ghana Premier League side Karela United.
The former Black Stars ‘B’ attacker then joined American side Swoop Park Rangers before returning to Ghana to play for Asante Kotoko.
After the 2020/21 league season, Opoku Mensah left Asante Kotoko for Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League.
Currently, Opoku Mensah ply his trade for Mukura Victory in the Rwandan top-flight league where he has become a top figure in the team.
Speaking to renowned sports broadcaster, Stephen Kwame Yeboah in an interview on Takoradi-based Connect FM’s ‘Sports Night’ show on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, William Opoku Mensah was asked whether he is considering a return to the Ghana Premier League after stint with Mukura Victory, the prolific attacker responded that, “Currently, I’m not considering playing for any Ghanaian team being Asante Kotoko or Hearts of Oak.
On whether he is expecting a call-up to the Black Stars considering his stupendous form for Mukura Victory, William Opoku Mensah said, “Based on my performance in Rwanda, I know I will get the opportunity to play for the national team [Black Stars].”
Opoku Mensah has been a hotcake in East Africa after his explosive performance in the Rwanda Premier League.
He has scored 21 goals in 25 matches for Mukura Victory this season with three assists, winning five MVP awards.
