Ghana skipper, Andre Ayew is optimistic that the Black Stars will triumph over Madagascar in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday.
The Black Stars host their counterpart from East Africa in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium tonight.
This will be the Black Stars first game after qualifying for the 2022 World Cup ahead of Nigeria.
With key players like Alexander Djiku and Thomas Partey to miss tonight showdown, Andre Ayew believes the Black Stars will tame Madagascar at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium this evening.
“Yes, it is true that this is another big task, we have qualified for the previous edition now and the only thing we can expect is that at the end of the sixth game, Ghana will qualify,” Ayew told reporters at a pre-match presser.
“We need to start by Wednesday. We will give everything that we have to make the three points. We know it is going to be a very difficult game and they are not a team that we can underrate anymore on the continent,” he added.
After playing Madagascar this evening, the Black Stars will travel to play Central African Republic in the second game of the qualifiers before flying to Japan for a four-nation tournament.
