Head coach of the Ghana U-23 (Black Meteors), Paa Kwesi Fabin has said the team didn’t had enough preparations before their Asian tour.
The Black Meteors suffered 15:2 defeat in four games against their counterpart from Japan and South Korea.
Ghana lost 10:0 to Japan in two games during the tour before traveling to South Korea where they were beaten 5:2 on aggregate.[ads2]
The Black Meteors returned to Ghana few days after the humiliation in Asia with striker Diawisie Taylor not playing a single game because of Covid-19 issues.
Speaking on Kessben FM, coach Paa Kwesi Fabin stated that his outfit didn’t had the best of preparations prior to the tour hence the team’s heavy defeats.[ads3]
He said that, “Our preparations wasn’t the best and that reflected in the friendlies. The players that we relayed on disappointed us at the last minutes. Some of the players that we invited didn’t show up and even our top striker [Diawisie Taylor] couldn’t play a single game because of Covid issues.”
” We had few days to prepare but the two countries have used two years to prepare for the Olympic games and definitely we can’t beat them” he added.[ads4]
Coach Paa Kwesi Gabion however apologized to Ghanaians for the disappointing results in the four friendly matches and assured that himself alongside the other technical team members will build the best of team for Ghana in their term in charge of the Black Meteors.[ads5]
