Techiman Eleven Wonders have petitioned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over who to replace AshantiGold Sporting Club in next season’s Ghana Premier League.
AshantiGold SC have been demoted to play in the division two next season following a match fixing scandal against Inter Allies in last two season’s Ghana Premier League.
Who to replace AshantiGold has become a hot debate in the media space but the Ghana FA has announced to play a playoff competition between Tamale City, Ebusua Dwarfs and Liberty Professionals, as they all finished second in the various zones of the last season’s division one league, to decide who replace AshantiGold in the Ghana Premier.
Ebusua Dwarfs have protested against the decision of playoff games, arguing that they would not have been relegated if the GFA had demoted AshantiGold from the Ghana top-flight league last two seasons when the incident occurred.
Latest club to protest against the decision of a playoff is Techiman Eleven Wonders who are arguing that AshantiGold were demoted in the just ended league season and therefore they deserve to play in the Premier League next season since they finished last season on fifteen position.
In a release, Eleven Wonders are arguing that it is stipulated in the Ghana FA regulations that only three clubs are demoted from the premier league not four and if AshantiGold is demoted then they [Eleven Wonders] who placed fifteen last season deserve to be named the replacement and not any other club.
