Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu is optimistic that with good officiating, his outfit can cause a havoc against Wydad Athletic in Morocco.
The reigning Ghana Premier league champions narrowly defeated Wydad Athletic in the first leg of the CAF Champions league preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.[ads2]
Prior to the epic game, the Phobians were confident of smashing Wydad convincingly to make the second leg a mere formality but turned the other way around.
It was Isaac Mensah’s goal in the 41st minute that ensured that Hearts of Oak goes into the second leg in Rabat next week on a slim advantage.
Despite the narrow win last Sunday, coach Samuel Boadu believes his outfit can go to Morocco and shock Wydad only if officiating will be fair.[ads3]
“It is going to be game management when we go to Morocco. If we get good officiating Hearts of Oak can score over there”, he said at the post-match conference.
“Everybody saw the performance of the referee and if we get good officiating in Morocco, Hearts of Oak will win.”
“Hearts of Oak has good players to compete with WAC of Morocco. We are ok with the one goal we scored. We shouldn’t give up and we are going to qualify over there”, he added.[ads5]
