Ghanaian International Abdul Majeed Waris has stipulated an unforgettable moments in the French Ligue 1 and could be considered as one of the prolific Ghanaian attackers to play in the Ligue 1.
He has played for four Ligue 1 clubs namely; Valenciennes, Lorient, Nantes and currently on loan at Strasbourg from Portuguese giant FC Porto.

Born in Tamale in the Northern region of Ghana, the 28-year old goal poacher begun his footballing career at Ghanaian Right To Dream Academy when he was twelve before moving to England to join Hartpury Academy while simultaneously gaining a place at the famous Nike Academy.
After a successful spell at BK Hacken and Spartak Moscow, Waris joined his first Ligue 1 club Valenciennes in January 2014 on loan.
He later joined Turkish side Trabzonspor in September 2014 on a four-year deal worth €5.5 million.

From Trabzonspor, he made a return to the French Ligue 1 at Lorient in a four-year deal worth €5million in August 2015 and later to Portuguese giant FC Porto in January 2018 and in January 2020 joined Strasbourg on loan until the end of the season with obligation to buy in summer for €2million.
Known for his good finishing, scoring of brilliant and important goals, Majeed Waris will definitely go into the history books as one of the best Ghanaian goal monsters to ever play in the French Ligue 1.

His outstanding performances and eyes for goals has made him a household name in the Black Stars since making his debut against Chile in 2012, and has now made over 31 appearances for the Ghana senior national team.
