Hasaacas Ladies have been crowned champions of the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Cup in Abidjan on Thursday.
The Ghanaian side defeated tgeir counterpart from Nigeria 3:1 to lift the giant trophy at the French speaking country.[ads2]
Prior to the final game, Hasaacas Ladies had lost 2:1 to Rivers Angels in the opening game of the competition.
Veronica Appiah opened the floodgate for Hasaacas Ladies as early as the first minute of the crucial game.[ads3]
Rivers Angels were brought alive by Vivian Ikechukwu after nine minute before Perpetual Agyekum restored the lead for Hasaacas Ladies in the 41st minute from a superhuman free-kick.
Azumah Bugre scored the final goal for the Sekondi-based club in the 57th minute to give them the title.
Hasaacas Ladies have booked a ticket to the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League to held in Egypt later this year.[ads4]
The win means Hasaacas Ladies have won their third trophy of the season after lifting the Ghana Women’s Premier league and the Ghana FA Cup titles respectively.
