Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has urged all Ghanaian celebrities and the well-to-do in the society to help in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic by giving back to the society.

The Coronavirus disease keep spreading since its outbreak in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year.
More than 18,000 people globally have died from the pandemic while more than 420,000 infections have been in at least 170 countries and territories.
Since the outbreak, Ghana has recorded sixty-eight cases with two deaths but the Ghana Health Service has warned Ghanaians to be cautious since more cases are likely to to recorded.
Though some politicians, organizations and individuals have been supporting in one way or another by donating protective logistics to avoid the spread of the pandemic, the former Sunderland attacker believes ”we can do more” and therefore, has called on other celebrities and the well-to-do in the society to help the government in the fight against the pandemic.

In a video, Asamoah Gyan also urged Ghanaians to adhere to the precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the disease.
“As an icon, people look up to me. I urge all celebrities, all those who are fortunate, let’s give back to the community because this is the time that people need up. People need our support,”

“Let’s do this to help the government because the government cannot do this alone. We can’t depend on the government, these are our lives. We have to protect one another; we have to stick together.

“Let’s take precaution, stay at home, use your hand sanitizers, let’s do everything possible to protect ourselves,” he concluded.
