Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has been named among the top ten best defensive midfielders in the world.

This comes following his spectacular performance for Spanish Laliga outfit Atletico Madrid in the 2019/20 season.
Despite the most country suspending their football league season due to the outbreak of deadly disease Coronavirus, United Kingdom online portal 90mins have ranked their top ten best defensive midfielders across the globe with Thomas Partey among the list.

Partey placed eight on the list and was the only Atletico Madrid player named on the list.
Chelsea and French midfielder N’Golo Kante came first on the list whilst Real Madrid and Brazil international Casemiro, Fabinho of Liverpool and Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich came second, third and fourth respectively.
Inter Milan sensation Marcelo Brozovic finished fifth whilst Fernandinho of Manchester City came sixth with FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets and Thomas Partey finishing seventh and eighth respectively.

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marquinhos came ninth whilst Frenkie De Jong of FC Barcelona finished tenth on the list.
