Sunderland and Bournemouth are set to battle for the signature of Leicester's Ghanaian prodigy
Sunderland is reportedly preparing a transfer bid for Leicester City’s Ghanaian prodigy Fatawu Ishahaku, as they aim to bolster their squad for an even more successful Premier League campaign.

The club may face competition from Bournemouth, who are seeking reinforcements following Antoine Semenyo’s recent high-profile transfer to Manchester City.

The Black Cats have maintained a long-standing interest in the 21-year-old, having reportedly offered £28 million for him last summer. They are now considering a move in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Leicester City’s asking price for Ishahaku remains uncertain as they focus on their promotion bid back to the Premier League. The club is currently navigating financial challenges and is offloading players not in Marti Cifuentes’ plans, with Wout Faes recently transferring to AS Monaco.

Ishahaku is expected to play a pivotal role in Leicester’s push for a top-six finish, given his significant attacking contributions this season. Therefore, Sunderland will need to present a compelling offer to persuade the Foxes to part with the player.

Cifuentes’ team is currently positioned 12th in the Championship table, four points behind sixth-placed Watford, having played one more match than some of their competitors.

The former Sporting Lisbon winger has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in the EFL Championship for Leicester City so far.
