Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of ace forward Stephen Amankona.
The deadly goal poacher joined the Porcupine Warriors on the transfer deadline day after fruitful negotiations.[ads2]
This comes after Asante Kotoko reached a gentleman’s agreement with Berekum Chelsea for the services of the attacker.
Confirming his transfer to Asante Kotoko, Amankona has penned down an emotional farewell message to Berekum Chelsea as he leaves for Kotoko.[ads3]
On his social media pages, Amankona posted that, “I am delighted and such moments keep us moving. In the football industry , players with appreciative and gratitude hearts are rare ! I know wherever my bosses Obed Nana Nketiah Nana Oduro and Francis Adjei Yeboah are , they will be impressed with this heart touching message. As they always say is not about the money but things like this are the reasons why they are still in the football business. May God bless us to bless others.”
Amankona was spectacular for Berekum Chelsea last season which attracted interest from not only Asante Kotoko but some other Premier league clubs including AshantiGold Sporting Club and Hearts of Oak.[ads4]
He was sensational and undoubtedly one of the best players in the league having scored 15 goals in all competitions in the 2020-21 season coupled with 7 assists, alongside three man-of-the-match awards.
