It was earlier reported in the media that, the Youth & Sports Ministry want the game to be cancelled because the Ministry want to organize it own Independence day celebration match for the two teams.
But Mr. Brako popularly called ‘Abatey’ has denied the reports, indicating that the Ministry has never concluded anything like that as speculated in the media.
According to Abatay, the organizers of the match never contacted the Sports Ministry about the game and even failed to write to the Ministry for a permission.

“It’s not that at all, it’s not true that the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah wants to cancel the Hearts vs Kotoko match in London”, Abatey told Fox FM.
“The thing is that the organizers did not do the right thing, they did not contact the sector minister nor serve him with any documents regarding the proposed match and the ministry is not happy about how it is being done, not that he wants it called off”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Kotoko clash with Hearts of Oak which is to celebrate this year’s Independence Day, will be held in the United Kingdom on March 7, 2020 at the Barnett Stadium in London.
