The Shama District Football Association has held its maiden awards night at the Riverside Conference Center in Shama in the Western Region on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
The awards ceremony was to honour clubs, players and coaches that performed extraordinary in the just ended league season.
In his address, Chairman of the Shama District Football Association Professor George Kuntu Blankson disclosed that the main objective of the association is to unearth and develop footballing talents in the district to become assets for the country in the near future.
He was elated for a successful campaign last season and urged the various clubs to continue same conscientious performance next season.[ads2]
Professor Kuntu Blankson expressed his gratitude to the various opinion leaders in the district for the unflinching support since assuming the seat as Chairman of the district football association and called for more support.
It should be stated that aside awarding spectacular players and coaches who performed extraordinarily, man of the match winners throughout the season were presented a certificate at the awards night.
At the awards ceremony, Pra Babies were crowned winners of the under 13 league last season while Unicorn Babies clinched the Under 15 and Unicorn Stars winning the third division league.They were presented with giant trophies, set of jerseys, footballs among others.
