The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Abdul Mumin Issah has been arrested by the police for allegedly assaulting an officer on February 2, 2022.
According to a statement from the police, the MCE was arrested for verbally assaulting the officer and also for careless driving.[ads2]
The police explained that, the MCE who was driving a Toyota Land cruiser is alleged to have driven dangerously and dangerously while approaching a police snap checkpoint at the Kwesimintsim cemetery on Wednesday, January 2, 2022.
But when one of the police officers attempted to stop him, the MCE verbally assaulted and threatened the officer.[ads3]
The Police is saying the MCE has been charged on three counts of assault of a police officer, offensive conduct conducive to the breaches of peace and disturbing the peace in a public place contrary to sections 205, 208 and 298 respectively of the Criminal and Other Offences Act of 1960, Act 29.[ads4]
The MCE has also been charged for dangerous driving contrary to Section 1 of Act 683 of 2004 as amended by Act 761 of 2008.
“He will be arraigned before court on Friday, February 4, 2022”, part of the police station says..
