The wait for Sekondi Gyandu Park’s renovation works to be completed seems only a matter of time away, as pictures emerging indicate that the first phase of the renovation works has been completed.
The Western Regional Sports Authority has completed the first phase of the renovation works and therefore the facility is ready for use by the public.
Before the renovation works, Gyandu Park was in a deplorable state which saw the Ghana Club Licensing Board rejecting the edifice as home ground for Sekondi Hasaacas and Proud United in the yet to commence 2020/21 season of the Ghana Division One League.[ads2]

But after weeks of intensive works on the edifice by the Western Regional Sports Authority, Sekondi Gyandu has taken shape left with the final touches.
Information gathered by kyfilla indicates that the Regional Sports Authority managed to complete the first phase of the works with assistance from the Western Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Effia-Kwesimintism Municipal Assembly, Members of Parliament for Sekondi, Essikado and Takoradi Constituencies.[ads3]
A statement from the Western Regional Sports Authority sighted by Kyfilla.com reads, “So far the Western Regional Sports Authority has been able to replace the inner perimeter fencing, partial rehabilitation of the pitch has been done as well as painting of the entire walls of the facility, water and electricity have been restored at the facility. There has also been replacement of fans at the dressing rooms and other electrical gadgets done. Replacement of exit and entry gates (about10 gates has been completed ).

The main entrance gate which eitherto could not be opened due to the level of damaged, has been replaced as well as the gate to the dressing room.
A visit to Gyandu Park by Kyfilla.com revealed a total transformation as the forecourt which used to be very bushy, has thoroughly been cleared and resurfaced with quarry stones. We also realized that a parking lot for teaming buses among others has been reconstructed and fenced.[ads4]

Other parts of the statement from the Western Regional Sports Authority also read, “the Regional Sports Authority therefore acknowledges the support of all and Sundry in re-fixing the Gyandu Park to make it conducive for sporting activities especially soccer”
“Our final appreciation goes to the Director-General, Prof. Peter Twumasi for his guidance and direction in this endeavour. Also our singular appreciation goes to the Chairman of the Regional Sports Committee and the chairman of the Regional football association for their respective roles in bring all stakeholders on board which brought us this far. “.
