Hearts of Oak head coach, Slavko Matic has reportedly applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.[ads2]
According to reports in the media, the Serbian tactician has sent his application letter to the Ghana Football Association for the opportunity to head the Ghana senior male national team.
As to whether Matic informed the management of Hearts of Oak before making the reported move remains unknown to Kyfilla.com despite several attempts to find out.[ads3]
The Black Stars coaching job has been vacant since Otto Addo resigned from the position after Ghana’s shambolic performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Already, the spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has disclosed that about 1000 coaches have applied for the Black Stars top job.
Even though the Ghana Football Association has commenced process of appointing a new coach for the Black Stars, Ghanaian lawmaker Sam George has revealed that the job has already been given to Chris Hughton.[ads4]
According to the Ningo-Prampram MP, the decision has been made long ago as the GFA intends to appoint someone they can have ‘control’ over.
“That [coaching] job they have given it to Chris Hughton already so why are we wasting our time?” he quizzed on Joy Prime.
“They have given it to him because they want someone they can manipulate, someone they can use to do their business, someone they can tell him to bring his team selection [with changes being made with regards to agency callups] regardless of how long the person has played or not played.
“People are using GFA to make money, they are using it to feed their family.”, he added.
There are also reports that former Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah has also applied for the Black Stars job and remains the only local coach in race for the job.[ads5]
