President Akufo-Addo has ordered the finance ministry to release a sum of Gh¢900,000 to the eighteen Ghana Premier League clubs.
This was contained in a release which indicate that the finance ministry will be releasing the Gh¢900,000 to the eighteen clubs as first tranche before the second tranche some other time.[ads2]
This means that each of the eighteen Ghana Premier League clubs will receive an amount of Gh¢50,000 to offset some of their expenses in this Coronavirus period.
The money is to cushion the clubs following the directives from the government for all league matches to be played behind closed doors due to the outbreak of the devastating coronavirus in the country.[ads3]
The statement also states that the division one, division two and the women’s league clubs will be getting their share of the monies.
