Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the overlord of Asante Kingdom has formed a three-member Committee to investigate the affairs of Ghana Premier League heavyweight Asante Kotoko.
The Committee has been tasked to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the team’s transactions with Tunisian giant Esperance de Tunis which led to a fine from FIFA.

It would be recalled that, Kotoko were slapped with a fine of $240,000.00 by FIFA for failing to settle Esperance de Tunis the transfer fee [$150,000] of striker Emmanuel Clottey who joined the Porcupine Warriors from the Tunisian side in 2012.
Though, the Executive Chairman of the club, Dr. Kwame Kyei has paid the debt, Manhyia Palace has set up the Committee to probe the transactions.
The Committee will be chaired by Professor Lydia Nkansah, Dean of Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Other members of the Committee are Mr. Kofi Owusu who is a registrar at the Ashanti Region House of Chiefs and Lawrence Bruce Kyei [Esq], a private legal practitioner.
The Committee will also investigate other matters including the failure of Asante Kotoko to set up a Board of Directors among others.

The Committee has four weeks to submit their report to Manhyia.
