Former Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars of Ghana, Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’ has divulged why Kwasi Appiah lost his position as the head coach of male senior national team of Ghana.
Coach Kwasi Appiah couldn’t renewed his contract with the current Ghana FA when his two-year stay came to an end in December last year.

Many thought the former Asante Kotoko defender would be given a contract renewal despite the Black Stars shambolic performance in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, surprisingly, he was shown the exit doors by the new Ghana FA.
Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’, a highly renowned Ghanaian football administrator has disclosed that, coach Kwasi Appiah stepped on many toes at the Ghana FA over players selection especially for the 2019 AFCON, which saw him out of position.

“Is it not an open secret that because Kwesi Appiah did not call certain kind of players [when he was in charge of Ghana], somebody got agitated and at the end of it all we know the outcome of that decision today,” Palmer told FOX FM.
Currently, CK Akonnor is the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana after serving as the assistant for a short period of time under Kwasi Appiah.
Akonnor is reported in the media to have signed a two-year deal and will take home $25,000 monthly as the Black Stars head coach.
