The Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that the team has gathered substantial evidence of looted state assets allegedly taken by officials of the previous administration.
Ablakwa revealed that the compiled evidence would soon be submitted to President John Dramani Mahama for further action.
Several weeks ago, President Mahama appointed Ablakwa, along with Nathan Kofi Boakye, Martin Kpebu, Raymond Archer, and Daniel Domelevo, to investigate cases of state capture and the misappropriation of assets.
Speaking to journalists in the Eastern Region, Ablakwa described the team’s work as highly successful and reiterated their commitment to ensuring accountability.
“We will not reveal the details of our findings until we officially present our report to His Excellency the President. At that presentation, Ghanaians will witness the extensive work undertaken and understand the scale of the looted assets. Our coordinated efforts will ensure that the attorney general and relevant institutions are equipped to recover these assets,” he stated.
The ORAL team’s mandate reflects the government’s determination to tackle corruption and recover state resources.
