FC Samartex 1966 defeated Wassaman United in the semifinals of the 2021 Nsenkyire Cup at the Samartex Park on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
It was a captivating encounter with FC Samartex dominating the entire first forty-five minutes, and scoring two quick goals to disarrayed the Wassaman team.[ads2]
Goals from Emmanuel Siaw and Richard Gyamfi were enough to give FC Samartex victory over fellow division one league outfit Wassaman United.
The Timber Giants started the game on a good note, tormenting the Wassaman defence which led to the opener from attacker Richard Gyamfi.[ads3]
The host team continued to mount pressure on Wassaman United despite netting the opener.
In the 31st minute, FC Samartex had a penalty after forward Richard Gyamfi was brought down in the eighteen yard box. Emmanuel Siaw beautifully converted to give FC Samartex a 2:0 lead before the first half break.
Wassaman United returned from the break to prove their worth giving FC Samartex a hell of a match throughout the second half.
Despite the impressive performance, FC Samartex were able to maintain the scores, winning the game by 2:0 after the ninety minutes.
