Asokwa Deportivo handed Hasaacas a painful defeat in the semifinals of the 2021 Nsenkyire Cup at the Samartex Park on Saturday.
It was an enthralling encounter with Hasaacas dominating the entire ninety minutes of the game but failed to secure a victory.
The game ended 2:1 with Thomas Aboagye scoring the consolation for Sekondi Hasaacas in the preseason tournament.[ads2]
It was an astonishing scoreline to many of the spectators as Hasaacas dominated possession, created most of the chances but failed to make good use of them.
The first half ended in a goalless despite Hasaacas enjoying much of the possession and creating goal-threatening opportunities.
First was Frederick Quayson who had his beautifully bicycle-kick from Thomas Aboagye’s crossing saved by goalkeeper Samuel Otoo.[ads3]
The enterprising Samuel Otoo was the hero of the day as he made another three crucial saves in the first forty-five minutes to deny Hasaacas the opener.
The likes of Anthony Quaidoo and Benjamin Acqua Mills tormented the Asokwa Deportivo defence but couldn’t broke the deadlock for the Giants of the West.
Hasaacas returned from the tunnel to continue dominating possession with Frederick Quayson coming close to another opener but failed to utilize the opportunity.
Asokwa Deportivo broke the deadlock in the 61st kind courtesy striker Samuel Tetteh.
Eleven minutes after the opener, Isaah Mammud made it 2:0 for Asokwa Deportivo from a rebound in the eighteen years box of Hasaacas.[ads4]
Skipper Thomas Aboagye netted the consolation for Hasaacas in the dying embers of the game from the spot.
This means Asokwa Deportivo have qualified to the finals of the competition and will meet the winner of FC Samartex and Wassaman United clash scheduled for later tonight.[ads5]
